I have played and sung music throughout my life in various contexts and for many years have been intrigued by the various ways in which singing with others can bring so many benefits; socially, emotionally and physically.
I am a clasically trained cellist and studied music at the University of Sheffield. I started singing in a community choir in Sheffield in 2001, and was immediately hooked!
I did an MA in Community Music at the University of York in 2003 which opened many musical doors for me.
I have worked on music projects in Sheffield and London since 2004, as well as running workshops at various festivals, including the Big Green Gathering and Shambala.
My work in London has included working on Spitalfield Festival's education and community programme, working on projects in schools, day centres and in other community settings in Tower Hamlets.
I also play and sing in a trio, The Top Shelalas.
